The 2018 spring summer fashion trends are a fab mix of florals, pastels, sequins and evening glam and definitely awash with fun and fresh ideas.
Get ahead of the game and figure out how to prep your wardrobe for next year right now by looking at the key trends that hit the catwalks.
Here’s our run-down on what you need to know…
As pretty as an ice cream, next year’s spring wardrobes can expect to be bursting with pale hues from yellow, to purple, green to pink. As seen on the catwalks at Preen, Hermes, Chanel and Victoria Beckham. Think lavender slip dresses to lemon power suits. The rules are made to be broken and this season pastel colours will be seen on pretty much anything. Be bold and go bold this spring.
Totally transparent dressing is going nowhere. For SS18 we can expect more than just see-through statement red carpet dresses, with an array of tulle, plastic and silk translucent designs hitting the runways at Anna Sui, Giambattista Valli, Preen and Prabal Gurung.
When designers weren’t showcasing collections packed with pretty pastels, they were hammering colour down the catwalk. From rainbow stripes at Dolce & Gabanna to sparkling party wear at Jeremy Scott, there are no real rules to multi-colour next season, apart from wearing a lot of it.
The prettiest of all the pastel tones to repeat over and over again, lilac is a must-have for the spring season. Spotted at Tibi in the form of light-weight dresses, at Victoria Beckham dressed up in suiting, at Michael Kors in knits and tie-dye daywear and at Pamella Roland in the ultimate princess couture.
Day glow disco
The runways were awash with glitter, glam and full-on rave wear for next season, bringing a fun and care-free attitude to fashion week. Paco Rabanne has you covered when it comes to disco ball glamour, while Tom Ford, Coach and Balmain brought power suiting, metallic day wear and little sequin dresses to the table.
